　　刚刚我们有提到peak，那么看图六，很明显有个峰值 (250 million)那么我们要这样写：

　　Sales increased for the first five years, then they plateaued for the next seven years, after which, then started to rise again until they reached their next plateau (接图四的例句)A

　　nd then sales continuously increased until they reached their peak of 250,000. After which, there was a sharp decline over the next three years.

　　3.雅思写作task1常用错9个单词：Bottom out

　　如果图，大体呈下降的趋势：

　　这种情况，我们可以写 bottom out，意思就是最低点，但是想要用一种最安全的方式去呈现的话，我们最好这样写 until they reached their lowest point。 为什么同是最低点，我们不选择bottom out。 因为Simple is the best。 但是Peak 却可以代替 the highest point。 原因是，总结历年的考试题或者是雅思真题，我们会发现，上升趋势的图或者的表格出现的频率较高，也就是说，“最高点”的使用频率比“最低点”要多。所以，我们要保证词汇的多样性，可以多用peak。

　　4.雅思写作task1常用错9个单词：Overall

　　有些同学，会在最后一段用“overall”做总结，事实上，它真的不是这么用。Overall= the whole span。

　　如图八所示，是总结的2000-2014，这整个15年的总结。你可以这样用Overall：

　　Although sales started very low and they reached a peak and then dropped again,overall, there is an increase.

　　解释就是，这个增长是从2000到2014年这个区间，我们总结的是这15年，而不能用overall去总结整篇文章。

　　5.雅思写作task1常用错9个单词：Span(N/V)

　　我们必须要会这个单词，但是很多同学却对这个词不熟悉。可是当我们讨论time的时候，例如上面的图2000-2014 这个时间段，我们就要有“span”，意思就是这是一个持续的时间，从开头2000到结束2014，这个完整的时间段，就是“span”。用英语解释就是 Span is a duration from the beginning to the end 它也是一个既能当动词用也能当名词用的全能。

　　图八造句： The graph shows an overall increase over the span of an increase.

　　不过要注意，介词“over”很重要，不能用“in”，因为"in"表达的是在10年当中发生的事情，而“over”表达的是一个从头到尾，整个区间。

　　我们也可以用“span”当作动词使用，

　　例如：The information spans 15 years. 意思是包含着15年的信息。

　　再来说一句，在一个句子中，不要用一个词超过两次，除非你能用它的不同的形式，就是动词名词换着使用。这会给你加分哒。
